A Boston Made Story
How a city, a mission and a family of ideas became one living universe.
Boston Made began with a simple belief: what we build should mean something. The brands, platforms and products we’ve launched aren’t separate ideas. They’re chapters of the same story, about building responsibly, remembering where you came from, and making things that last longer than any trend.
Chapter One · The City
Boston was always the product. For four hundred years this city has been built and rebuilt by makers: revolutionaries, inventors, dock workers, immigrants, engineers and dreamers who never stopped building. Boston Made takes its name, and its standards, from them.
That’s why the Boston Made Editorial desk tells the city’s stories every day, from the Molasses Flood to the Big Dig. It’s also why Boston Made: From Revolution to Robotics by Dr. Robert M. Krim with Alan S. Earls sits at the heart of our library.
Chapter Two · 2019 · It Started With Dogs
Boston Made, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware on March 22, 2019, around one idea: well-made things for dogs and the people who love them. Boston Made Pets became the company’s first brand, and Pupwear followed with apparel built for real dogs on real walks. Every product still has to earn its place on the leash.
Chapter Three · 2022–2026 · The Family Grows
In 2022 the Boston Made Newsroom gave the company a voice. In 2024 Fenway Web began designing and building websites, first for our own brands and then for independent businesses. By 2026 the family included the Boston Made Foundation, BOSSTOX, the free Boston Made Reader, Boston Made Brands and the Boston Made App.
Each brand has its own job and its own home. Together they cover what matters to us: stories, business, community, education and the animals who share our lives.
Chapter Four · The Engine
Behind the brands stand three houses. Kingswell Strategic Ventures is the strategy house: it sets direction and backs new initiatives. Paxton-Digital is the technology house: it builds the platforms and protects the ideas behind them. Fenway Web is the studio that designs every site you visit.
Together they power the network’s software: ATLAS for business intelligence, SCOUT for IP intelligence, Keystone for Kingswell’s software stacks and BOSSTOX for AI infrastructure intelligence. You can see all of it in one place on our Software page.
Chapter Five · Play the Story
Some stories are better played than read. In the free Boston Made Arcade, The Harbor Key begins in Boston in 1773, when a brass key with eight marks falls on Griffin’s Wharf. Each mark belongs to a house of the Boston Made universe. Spin each house’s slot machine to unlock its chapter, follow Beacon the terrier across the city, and open the door at the end of the trail.
It’s free to play with arcade coins only. No real money is ever involved.
Chapter Six · Built to Last
Boston Made was set up to be permanent from the start. It’s a Delaware C corporation with formal bylaws, board oversight, documented minutes and clear officer roles. Governance was never an afterthought, and our Corporate Governance and Compliance libraries explain how we think about it.
Today bostonmade.com runs ATLAS. This archive keeps the original site, and the whole story behind it, open to everyone.
“Boston Made isn’t about what we sell or build—it’s about what we remember, what we protect, and what we choose to carry forward.”
– Nathan Strickland
