Boston Made Foundation: Building Opportunity Beyond Business

The Boston Made Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Boston Made ecosystem, created to expand access to opportunity through education, entrepreneurship, and community-driven initiatives. Built for long-term impact, the Foundation invests in people, partnerships, and programs that strengthen communities and local economies.

At Boston Made, building companies has always been about more than revenue or scale — it’s about impact. That belief is what led to the creation of the Boston Made Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Boston Made ecosystem, dedicated to expanding access to opportunity through education, entrepreneurship, and community-driven initiatives.

The Boston Made Foundation exists to support people, ideas, and communities that deserve a fair shot at success. Rooted in the belief that strong communities build strong economies, the Foundation focuses on long-term outcomes over short-term wins. We don’t just give — we invest in people, partnerships, and programs that create lasting change.

What Is the Boston Made Foundation?

The Boston Made Foundation is a nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its mission is to advance education, entrepreneurship, and community development for the public good.

While BostonMade.com serves as the hub for Boston Made’s for-profit brands, media, and ventures, BostonMade.org exists solely to uplift founders, creatives, nonprofits, and underserved communities — without paywalls, gatekeeping, or barriers to entry.

“Boston Made was never just about building companies — it was about building opportunity. The Foundation exists to make sure access, education, and belief reach the people who are ready to do something meaningful with them.”
Nathan Strickland, Founder, Boston Made

From the Founder

Article Contribution by Nathan Strickland, Founder, Boston Made Foundation

The Boston Made Foundation was created from a simple but powerful belief: opportunity should not be limited by access, background, or circumstance. Throughout my journey building Boston Made, I’ve seen firsthand how talent exists everywhere — yet resources do not.

This work isn’t about charity alone; it’s about empowerment. It’s about equipping individuals, founders, and organizations with the tools, education, and support they need to build something sustainable and meaningful. When people are given the right foundation, they don’t just improve their own lives — they strengthen families, communities, and local economies.

The Boston Made Foundation is committed to long-term impact, transparency, and collaboration. We will continue to partner with those who share our values, invest in initiatives that create real outcomes, and remain accountable to the communities we serve.

This is how we build something that lasts — not just for today, but for generations to come.
